Look Into the Future of the Past: Mājas Cēsīs book design

Stories of Cēsis’ restored buildings, the history they hold, and a new chapter in their long lives.

As part of the project, we developed the book’s concept and design as a tangible extension of the Mājas Cēsīs brand. The book features an exposed spine and fold-out covers, allowing the story to unfold in a physical format as well.

In addition to the photographs, we worked with archival materials from the Cēsis Museum arhive, complimenting the narrative created by writer Ieva Elza Zaharova, journalist Jānis Gabrāns, and architect Pēteris Blūms. The result is a timeless publication about the history, present, and future of the city of Cēsis, seen through the eyes of these buildings.
